Crime is never a problem—until it is.

That is called situational awareness.

Some people have it, some people don’t.

I’m glad my cousin didn’t live long enough to see what the Demonrats have done to his beloved city. He was their greatest Mayor in the city’s history.

Tishaura Jones is a radical leftist who is very critical of St. Louis City policing...The murder rate in St. Louis City hit a 50-year high in 2020.

The two sentences next to each other are ironic. If the murder rate has risen so much, than she is right to be critical of the St Louis Police Department. But, of course, that’s not the reason she’s critical of the PD.

But for Detroit, St. L. might well be the poster child for a dying city. Seventy years ago it had a population of over 850,000. Now it is a bit over 300,000. And you can tell. There are empty buildings all along the interstates that run through the city.

There are some very nice parts of town, very safe, but because St. Louis city is geographically fairly small, the nice parts are very close to the less-than-nice parts. Downtown is fairly safe and the police presence is very high when the Blues or the Cardinals have home games because downtown is so close to feral territory. I wonder if the new mayor will cut back on that.

No doubt, the criminals have reached herd mentality.

“They retired in East St. Louis and swear it is as safe as can be. “

Did they actually retire to East St. Louis (rated the most dangerous city in the U.S.) or to the East Side of the river, which includes East St. Louis of course, but also has loads of perfectly safe suburbs.

Apparently in Demland, attacking the police force is an effective way to lower the murder rate.

Back in the 1960s, my fathers hometown of Newark, NJ was named the worst city in America by a national publication whose name escapes me. He lived long enough to see slight improvement in Brick City since the early 2000s, but it’s amazing how many cities have since surpassed Newark in overall awfulness. I was in St. Louis as recently as four years ago, and in Baltimore two years ago and I felt a lot more unsafe than in Newark, which is a low bar.

Back in the mid 1970s, I was stationed at Scott AFB. My boss, an AF Col, was driving back from the city through East StL. He took a brick through the windshield right in the mouth. Nearly killed him, lost several teeth. While that was bad enough, at his retirement party, some joker gave him a gift wrapped brick with some teeth embedded in it. Funny but not funny.

Great for St. Louis. May they sink down into hell for electing such a corrupt person

Both my husband and I were born and raised in inner city St. Louis. My older sister still lives in south St. Louis city near “The Hill”, so we do go back to visit occasionally. It is not something we look forward to.

When my husband was drafted into the military in 1961 and we left St. Louis, I never dreamed that we would never return there to live even though we had multiple chances to do so.

Downtown was not safe, even in the ‘70s. My Mom and her friend were attacked on the parking lot when leaving the Adam’s Mark Hotel. While getting into a car, her friend was beaten and bloodied with an ice scraper until she gave up her purse. Thankfully, there was only one attacker so he ran away after he got the purse. In the ‘80s my niece was car jacked at gunpoint on the near north side. She never did get her car back.

It is dying. It's just awful. It was once a vibrant city like all the others but then the criminals took over and it is criminal what has been done to that city.

Sad for the city, but when it comes right down to it they deserve it because they were too lazy to go out and vote. I hope they don’t destroy the city because then all the vermin who live there would just move on to destroy another city.
