Rudy can file a civil rights lawsuit in Federal Court, now. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled last year that a person has a constitutional right to be heard in a Federal Court AT ANY STAGE of a state Court proceeding, even after a final state court decision.

I was called to serve on a jury once in my life at age 25. My conclusion from that experience was I never wanted to be judged by a “jury of my peers.”

1) My perception of Rudy’s television appearances over the past couple of years is he has lost his edge. Certainly the “Borat” encounter suggests he stupidly let his guard down.
2) If Trump is indicted he will have great difficulty getting competent attorneys to represent him in New York. He was unable to secure top legal talent for his second impeachment trial. The bar in New York is extremely liberal as are most of the executives of the wealthy corporations that control much of the money paid to attorneys. Anyone who even thinks of representing Trump will be publicly vilified and the attorney’s clients will be intimidated to the point they go somewhere else. The partners of the top law firms will prevent their firms from representing Trump.
Meanwhile the DOJ will steer the trial to a biased judge and will have have the most vicious attorneys representing the government.
Trump’s chances of getting a fair trial in NY, with or without Rudy as his attorney are about the same as the January 6 protestors getting a fair trial in DC.

I practice on the civil side and, all jokes aside, its not as bad as the jokes would tell. Most of the other lawyers I know and have cases with are pretty straight and honest. Believe me, if most weren’t, I couldn’t do this job.
The real problem with the system, which is systemic, is the great variability of the quality of judges, with the unfortunate fact that there is probably a majority that range between unpredictable and incompetent. An unpredictable judge leaves attorneys unable to ever give a client a firm analysis of the quality of his claim or defense, because he cannot say with reasonable certainty that the correct outcome is an outcome the client can reasonably expect.
Incompetent judges are also unpredictable. The difference is that, in almost every case, the ruling will be wrong, poorly reasoned and inconsistent with the law. Its a crap shoot whether the judge will once in a while, be wrong in your client’s favor.
He will never be allowed to present the evidence in court. Rather, the court will just repeat the media spin that this has all been disproven.

I don’t know how long you have been an attorney but at 85 I have seen the corruption of the legal system grow to the extent that it is no longer “Justice”.
Day after day the so-called “justice” system has devolved into a pure legal system, a game, played out by the courts and of course big money.
Nothing to be proud of today.
