For a sweet twist....
Parchment sheet.
Bacon. Don’t overlap.
Brown sugar on bacon. Place carefully. Pat down.
Now add generous fresh cracked black pepper .
Cook in oven. Don’t burn.

Makes a yummy snack or breakfast anytime.

I live alone, and got tired of throwing away bacon that I didn't eat right away. For several years now, I cook my bacon in the oven, and store it in the fridge. I like thick-sliced bacon. I use two large cookie sheets, line each with foil, then lay out the slices of bacon side by side. I place the cookie sheets on the two racks in my oven. I set my oven for 325 degrees, and the timer for 25 minutes. When the alarm goes off, I switch the cookie sheets on the racks, and bake them for another 10 minutes. When they're done, I let the cookie sheets set on the counter for a short while.

To store the bacon, I use two paper plates, and toweling paper. I use enough toweling paper so it can be folded, and laid on top of the paper plates. For one package of thick-sliced bacon, I end up using 4 sets of folded toweling paper. I lay 5-6 slices on one set of double-folded toweling, then cover that with the next set of toweling, then lay more bacon on that...and continue until I finish with the last set of toweling paper on the top. I use a large plastic Glad container to put it all in, put the cover on, and throw it in my fridge. Then I just toss the cookie sheets in the dishwasher. The bacon stays fresh, and all I need to do is take out two slices, throw them in my pan, and finish cooking.

Amen. I hate chewy bacon. It’s nasty.

New wave oven is the only bacon cooker for me. I love crispy bacon. Better and faster than the oven.

That is one of the worse ways to cook bacon.

The best way is in a rack in the oven.

Hotel’s microwave bacon is pretty good. It’s lean and after 2:30 in the microwave comes out nice and crisp.

Brittle bacon is something I hate.

You should move to Great Britain where they love to boil everything. I thought the article was a joke until I watched the video. The results look sad to me. I love Bacon that can be crumbled and can't stand soft bacon even if it is fully cooked. To me soft bacon defeats the entire purpose of bacon. I prefer to slow cook bacon on very low heat with a lid on the pan for about 20 minutes, until a lot of the fat is liquefied... then turn up the heat for about 5 minutes to get it slightly crispy in its own oil but still succulent. I guess that it is the same principle that this guy is going for without blanching out the smoke flavor, seasoning and salt with a bunch of water.

Frying — “The result is that it can often be quite brittle”

Huh? That’s called CRISPY! We like ours EXTRA crispy.

Probably something I’m doing wrong, but when I fix bacon in the oven, it makes a horrible mess out of the oven and smokes so much that it can set off the fire alarm. I have yet to find a non-messy way to cook bacon. :-(

Baked bacon is absolutely the best, no doubt. But it takes a long time, so it’s usually the frying pan for me. But the microwave will do in a pinch.

Psssst! If you notice, AFTER the water boiled off you can fry your bacon any way you want. I prefer my bacon flexible but it you want it crispy or extra crispy, just fry it longer.

That is exactly how we do it — cookie sheet in the oven and save the grease.

(If you line the cookie sheet with parchment paper, cleanup is a breeze.)

This product, like most RumbaFlex innovations, was never successfully deployed.

But it was a smash hit on "As seen on TV." Their commercials are memorable.

Is there anything wrong with wrapping bacon on a machine gun muzzle and firing for about 30 seconds?

I tried that. It ended up tasting like Hoppe's No. 9.

What a mess, I microwave bacon @ 1 min per slice depending on how thick the bacon is sliced. Do it on a paper plate with paper toweling.

If you bake it to the right doneness and save the leftovers in the fridge, they'll microwave to perfection. Since it's just the two of us, we bake a week's worth ahead of time.

Flat iron bacon is my favorite but I’ll try this and let you know.

Me, too but I just use paper towels above and below the bacon and it’s perfect every time once you learn how long to cook it - which depends on the number of slices. Generally 4:25 for 5 slices. You microwave and taste may vary!
