What is your point? That The Drudge Report has sold out to the Norfolk & Southern Railroad?
This story is being widely covered by the MSM. Just type in “Ohio Vinyl Chloride” and you’ll see.

Drudge is likely owned by MSN (Microsoft, leftist news site).

A similar fate to Drudge Report awaits Project Veritas post ousting O’Keefe. The Deep State and its media allies are following the strategy of taking over hostile media sources. Sometimes this strategy works. However, a huge network of alternate media has arisen in the last six years, and sites that lose their conservative or traditionalist focus collapse or become irrelevant. Liberal sites receive huge support from leftist billionaires, but their opposition is grassroots and more difficult to squash, especially when they multiply.

you are correct, but not just from liberal billionaires - the leftist media, including NPR, get funding from TAXPAYERS.

I think you have guessed correctly.

An axel caught fire, it was reported last week.I was working on a contract with FRA to add ECP braking, automatic cutlevers, anglecocks, handbrakes, brake piston position, bearing temperatures, bearing vibration (+/- 80 G at 100 KHz), ride quality accelerometers (longitudinal, lateral, transverse). Auto-coupler for the air hose and ECP electrical as well. 5 cars were equipped and ready for field test from a yard in Joliet, IL. Dec 2008. On Jan 20, 2009, Obama cut the funds for the program. A car equipped with the electronics from my program would have informed the locomotive engineer and allowed a stop before catastrophic failure. Obama and the Democrats have no desire to resolve those kinds of issues. They are owned by the rail companies and unions.
Even without the better electronics from my program, the railroad maintains infrared "hot box" detectors every 20 miles. The reset to 0 on the passing of the locomotive and count axles. Anything "hot" is registered and reported by axle position.
I published two papers in 2005 on the system. One at the 10th International CAN Conference and the 2nd at the IEEE/ASME conference in Pueblo, CO a couple months later. The project was labeled Onboard Continuous Monitoring System (OBMCS). Over $1 million in project equipment was abandoned in the field in January 2009. There wasn't any money remaining to collect the assets and place them in safe storage. Some of it remains in my basement to the present day. The PC104 CPU modules have "aged out". I used a Linux kernel running C language modules for all the interfaces. Linux made a kernel coding update that employed a micro-instruction that wasn't implemented by the Diamond Systems "system on a chip" CPU, so a CPU board change was coming soon.

I saw three or four threads about it on Reddit—all from different sources.
Yes, Reddit is flooded with silly liberal kids. But it is one of the all around news aggregator sites around. The brain is a wonderful filter. I use it often.

I can tell you just from back in the early 2000s, back when things were relatively tamer, that as soon as you get big, your world gets flipped on you. Everyone is coming from you, and a lot of them come at you sideways. You can’t trust ANYONE, and you don’t know who the badguys are because almost no one is who you think they are and the worst ones know how to play really nice and they’re patient. You don’t know who is organized, deep, foreign or domestic, and these days, it’s probably the domestic side that has the most to power. It’s almost like a world of espionage, except you don’t know you’re supposed to keep your guard up. I can’t even imagine what it would be like these days having so many well funded NGOs and well organized front groups out there. You can get paranoid, and in public it almost seems like people are looking at you differently, or whispering when you aren’t looking. When they target family, friends, and co-workers, they sneak in through their social media, start making friends, gleen information, and wait in the weeds. They’ll hack, trick, phish, surveil, and they’ll troll. Oh yes, the molls-and-trolls technique isn’t just for government spying. When they get people embedded, they’ll stir the pot, because when you get threatened, or riled, or turned-about, you look for friends and allies where you can find them, and that’s what they want. Oh, look - someone who has learned something in life!
Great post.
