What I liked about this essay was that it was straightforward, no double talk, no backhanded apology. Mike Taibi is another liberal fighting the fight. This is going to have impact.
Bump! Thanks for posting!
Hey Naomi, can you say Fedsurrection?
FU naomi.
your apology is worthless. your actions have ruined our great nation.
give us your pound of flesh.
Great post. I agree.
There was a time in my younger years that I thought the government and the media wouldn’t really deceive people intentionally, and certainly not on such a wide scale.
Certain events that happened in the last 25-30 or so years changed my mind about that.
Once those scales fall from your eyes, you see subsequent events through a different lens. You question far more than you used to.
Ms. Wolf is going through this process now, and we should not shun her. I want to engage people who are genuine and sincere. We will be better for it when we do so.
Naomi makes one error: she suggests that the video was “leaked” to Carlson, whereas the decision to let his team view the video was openly announced and officially approved by the Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy.
she strayed slightly off the reservation, and the lefties dropped a piano on her
***********
That should be her next article. The price of straying off the liberal reservation.
She was duped, but she needs to go after the dupers.
You are correct. It was not a leak. It always was public information that was released.
Calling it a leak only helps to excuse the concealment of the videos.
The only apology that counts is from the DOJ and their false prosecutions AND their reversals.
It all depends on what the meaning of the word ‘declassify’ means. How many security reviews, delays, redactions, etc. will impede the process?
As a Conservative, I accept Naomi Wolf’s apology and say to her Welcome to our side. I am very happy that she is now one of us.
*** I wondered how Covid was ok in big box stores but not small business.***
It was ok to shop at Walmart or Target for shoes or clothing, but not an actual clothing store or shoe store. So everybody who used to shop at certain types of stores were shoved together with others at the Walmarts and Targets.
Trying on clothes wasn’t allowed anymore, and if you bought the wrong size, too bad, no returns either.
There’s so much about the lockdowns that made zero sense. Zero.
It was always about fear and control.
We The People were sidelined by elected and unelected bureaucrats alike. I’m still angry about it.
*** You’re only truly sorry if you take real steps to stop the problem from continuing.***
You make a good point.
Wow, that’s quite a tome. Guess I should’vs just GTS.
What I liked about this essay was that it was straightforward, no double talk, no backhanded apology.

Don’t be so easily swayed. Her essay was short on criticism for the perpetrators. Her call for ‘accountability’ rings hollow in the absence of tangible remedial recommendations to turn things around. That means naming names and a call for action, otherwise nothing will change.
She doesn’t like being duped, but doesn’t want to put the hammer down on those who duped her.
My view is that saying you don’t like what happened, but not saying how it should be fixed, accomplishes nothing.
She’s in a unique position to call out the abuses of her party and their media. Coming from one of their own, the criticism will have far more impact than that of any conservative could have. She’s an influential lefty.
Well said.
I agree, however I bet she’s about to quickly learn that she will be shunned and even condemned by the left. She will be ostracized for speaking the truth.
The Left functions on deception and lies. She’s not one of them anymore. Her influence will be lost.
This is what the Left does every time someone wises up.
It would be good to post a post-mortem of your experience and invite others to share what they have encountered.
Because like most good liberals, she believed that her side would never lie to HER.
Maybe, as a "former White House spouse," she still believed in a basic tenet of government service that they would be honest in their dealings, that oaths of office meant something, that oaths before testifying meant something.
Maybe she's coming to the realization that the left uses "honesty" as a weapon, a tactical use of taking oaths to lull the other side into complacency.
Maybe she will read about how the Proud Boys trial was just paused due to the revelation that the FBI conspired to lie about evidence and deleted emails about it, only to be discovered by the defense in "hidden tabs" in Excel spreadsheets.
She's already realized that she's been led around by her Masters the way she alleges that Chasney was led around by the Capitol Police into a LAAP-dog media photo trap.
The question is what will she now do about it?

It’s truly a phenomenon - what you don’t see until you do, then you never see things the same again. It takes longer for some than others, some never do. For us it’s hard to comprehend, it’s so obvious, as obvious as the sky is blue - yet so many are just living in The Matrix for real, and they call themselves ‘woke’. The irony.
