I’d like to see a photo of the house he thought was abandoned.
Pics at above link. Not sure if “abandoned” is quite it, but the house and landscaping need maintenance. Of course his excuse amounts to a confession, since it is not legal to break into homes, assumed abandoned or otherwise. The details I’m curious about are whether he actually broke in and entered a locked house, and what he stole to get the burglary charge.

I did a quick lookup and it looks like you don't actually have to steal anything to get the burglary charge:
"The act or crime of house breaking, with an intent to commit a felony therein, whether such felony be actually committed or not."
