Over and above a direct competition to Woke Disney, simple logistics indicate success.
Consider. The Grand Lake area is just off I-40, centrally located to the entire country. A two day driving trip from either coast, a day and a half driving trip from Canada or the Rio Grande, 8 hours from Chicago, Dallas, Minneapolis, Denver. And all those small towns in that fly-over country Disney has long since ignored.
While the Eastern Leftists sneeringly ignore Branson, the C/W shows and Silver Dollar City, you don't see controversy, either. How many drag shows are there along the strip in Branson? A trifecta would be that it could become the new Vegas. Indian casinos thrive in Oklahoma, and while Branson has pushed for years to legalize gambling, Missouri just ain't having it.
FutureWorld, WestWorld, the possibilities are boundless. Most of all, it's safe.

Oklahoma weather doesn’t hold a candle to warm weather and palm trees. We have maybe 1 month of unusually cold weather a year. Imagine sloshing thru Disney world in snow boots and parkas.
