These others are, generally, termed special forces, but the Green Berets are actually named The US Special Forces.

I really despise all of the ad hominem attacks on Col. McGregor. Either he is correct, or he is not. Can we please talk about FACTS, instead of the messenger. Sheesh, even Obama (who has a richly-deserved approval rating of about -99% here on FR) correctly relayed the news that OBL was dead, and McGregor cannot be as bad.
So let’s look at facts. Either this mission occurred or it didn’t. If it did, we either lost a lot of men or we didn’t. Is there anything out there that either corroborates or disproves McGregor’s claims? If so, either way, PRESENT THE FACTS!

Delta as part of their cover does fall under Special Forces so that they could be partly hidden as green berets, but SEALs are Special Operations, as are the Army Special Forces (aka green berets), Rangers, MARSOC, Night Stalkers, and any of the Special Ops units.

US Special Forces (Green Berets) go in and train local forces, or coordinate with local forces using US support. That is their mission.
Don’t buy it, Israel has more than adequate Special Forces.
