Attempts to wipe those words out are only going to make them more curious; even more so when they find out that Osama bin Laden was not the caricature they've likely been raised on.
Disagree with Osama's religious presuppositions all you'd like (because they *did* drive a lot of his thinking), or even with his analysis of history (which some will naturally disagree with), but we've since imported a lot of Muslims into America who are naturally going to vibe with that thinking. And in terms of the political/social diagnoses, there are a lot of young non-Muslim Americans who are going to sympathize or even agree with his words regarding intoxicants, hypocrisy, and usury (which will hit *especially* hard given total student loan debt and credit card debt outstanding).
For those who lament that so many young Americans are being exposed to Osama bin Laden's words and are finding things in them that are agreeable: what does it say about the state of American society and America's government that they think Osama bin Laden makes some good points?

Here’s a huge problem: if you start going “we can’t listen to people who kill 3000+ civilians bro, they’re monsters!”, you are going to give Gen Z Americans a lot of *ideas* right now: ideas about what, say, a particular state is doing right now and whether that is right or not.
The idea that you can run your society on maximum hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance, while also making housing unaffordable and inflation completely unreasonable, is funny in a tragic sense, because it naturally *breeds* sympathy for those who have been opponents of that society...especially if they don’t sound like the caricature they’ve likely been raised on.

We’re facing a complete breakdown in societal messaging and institutional control, and they’re freaking out. But why should they be surprised?
Zoomers saying “Osama Bin Laden had some good points” is shocking? Why? The sitting President has threatened the domestic populace with F16s multiple times; a former candidate said she’d throw half the population (the “deplorables”) into camps; tepid anti-war criticism (from both left and right) is now seen as tantamount to sedition.
And people are shocked that young Americans think Osama had some good points, even if they don’t agree with all of it?
(The one thing I’d be most interested in seeing is actual veterans of America’s wars in Afghanistan or Iraq reading Osama’s letter to America...and whether their reaction is more positive or negative.)
