I just talked to a good friend who is an MI Army Captain on Ft. Bragg and he's been helping to prepare the post for President Bushes' speech.

Only Ft. Bragg soldiers are allowed at the speech no family.

President Bush will meet with the families of soldiers who've given their lives in our present conflicts.

You wrote, "We might have a live one here Jim."

You most certainly were talking about Lazamataz.

And being around since 1999 does buy him some latitude, as well as the right to be free of harassment by tattle tales like you.

BTW, how old are you? You write like a ten year old.

Take an English and grammar class, and get back to me.

Besides, Laz is terribly funny. And you are not.

You said you didn't believe Bush would support the decision by the liberals on the court. That article points out that Bush was party to the very same action that was upheld by the court when he was co-owner of the Rangers. That stadium was built on land seized through eminent domain - an action Bush was a key player in promoting.

That's a contention that Bush, who was unavailable to comment on this series, has denied in the past.

Yea, like this guy did sound like he had an agenda at all. i don't know the whole story. How do you know it was Bush that did it and not one of his partners?

ehh not believing it.

You aren't exactly an asset to the forum. Simply denying something isn't exactly useful conversation.

You don't even have the courage of your convictions.

No, the less you blindly follow a RINO or an elitist, the more conservative you are.

You're right. Another conservative issue where Bush is AWOL.

I would like more attention paid to such issues. While I support the WOT, it is a historical fact that the biggest threat to the freedom of most great civilizations is decay from within, rather than attack from without.

I honor and support our troops. However, they've been sent on a mission in Iraq which was not necessary for US national security. That's not their fault. I hope they kill as many insurgents as possible, and they suffer as few casualties as possible. But taking down the tinpot Saddam (so that a chaotic situation would ensue in Iraq) was not necessary for US security. We had him boxed in, sanctioned and subject to intense overflight surveillance --- and besides, he didn't have a military worth spit and he had no WMDs. Castro is as much of a threat to US as Saddam was (and as much of a tyrant to his people), and I don't hear any calls on freerepublic for invading Cuba.

Bush isn't a conservative. He's an elitist. Anything that helps his elite wins his approval. He's only played 'conservative' long enough to get elected, and now the real Bush seems to be shining through.

He played conservative in the 2004 election, but not in the 2000 election. In that election, he used the "triangulation" strategy employed by Clinton. (He used
conservatives as his "Sister Soulja") It was the Bush campaign that insisted on dropping the GOP platform plank calling for the elimination of the Department of Education.
Bush has never been a limited government conservative.

I'm angriest at myself, for being fooled.

At least you are making up for it by holding his feet to the fire.

We all should have known when he used the term "compassionate conservative". Just his term for socialism.

A number of prominent conservatives pointed this out at the time. In our eagerness to clense ourselves of the stench of the Clinton administration, we closed our eyes and ignored where Bush was leading the conservative movement. Hopefully we can elect a REAL conservative in 2008. I like what I hear about Mike Pence.

From his webpage:

Furthermore, Congress should recognize the primacy of state law in matters related to firearms purchases and registration and should support state efforts to disarm dangerous criminals.

Sounds to me like he wants to encourage more gun control at the state level. I think we can do better than that.
