I am glad you are covering the 1790s. I have a special research area in the time from the end of the Revolution to about 1795, mostly involving the expansion west into Kentucky, but I do some cultural work in a good bit of the 18th c (reenacting related, mostly, but I am a hard core researcher).

Great! You are on the list...I am a big-tent Federalist, so even Jeffersonians are welcome (although I'm not implying that you are one).

Just adding this to the GGG catalog, not sending a general distribution.
Pharmboy, I just pinged the GGG list to a brand new ping list on Military History. Since the discussion about its founding is in the topic you started about Hamoukar, Syria, you've probably already learned of it. Sorry I didn't ping yours, but I'll put a note in the GGG Digest about it, so everyone will get that instead. :')
To all -- please ping me to other topics which are appropriate for the GGG list. Thanks. Please FREEPMAIL me if you want on or off the
"Gods, Graves, Glyphs" PING list or GGG weekly digest

Just a quick aside that you may not be aware of: Daniel Boone was first cousin to Gen. Daniel Morgan of RevWar fame. Both he and Morgan were at the Massacre on the Mongahela wth Gen. Washington during the French and Indian war.

You're right, I didn't!
My hubby is a descendant of Mark Bird, who was married to the sister of George Ross, and is reputed to have sent flour to the men at Valley Forge. Mark Bird's wife was a sister-in-law of another one of the signers. And someone, I think one of George Ross' sisters, ia married to another one of the signers...and the Birds lived fairly near the Boone residence before the Boones headed to the Carolinas.
Rev War history becomes important in my household.

You're on! And welcome...we're a pretty friendly group since we consider ourselves Big-tent Federalists, but there are occasional dust-ups with the (anti-Federalist) Jeffersonians.
Pull up a chair near the fire, and have a glass of rum punch (Mrs. Washington's recipe).

Jefferson? That loser?!? ;')
Mount Rushmore -- one non-partisan, one (pre-Jackson) Democrat, and two Republicans; three federalists, one anti-federalist.
