I have a hard time buying that story. Was it just made up? Or is there proof he was a farmer. When did he turn soviet kiss up?

" == ... I think he bears some responsibility for what's going on now in the Middle East. == "

No, it was the ayatollah seizing power in Iran. Oh, I forgot. Who and what allowed THAT to happen....?

IIRC His family owned the peanut farm and similarly to Richard Lugar who inherited his family farm he used the address as his home although he hadn't actually lived there for years. OTOH I think he now resides on the "home place".

But then again, the Jews shouldn't take it personally. Jimmah Carter never met a dictator or terrorist he didn't like (yet).

I was completely disgusted when I heard that Carter had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, knew then it was simply political. A mere two weeks later, the world learned that North Korea had been developing nuclear weapons all along. Carter had received the prize for brokering the North Korean nuclear nonproliferation treaty. I am fast coming to the realization that all our famous 'prizes' are nothing but politics as usual.

An old marketing technique (read propaganda trick) is to create a source to cite material you want people to believe without question.

For some reason, if people hear or read something, and it is cited or referenced to another source (even if they never heard of that source) they will believe it without questioning.

This method has been done with organizations also.

Most of these groups that award each other to lend credibility are made up of the same Mo Larry and Curlys.

The healthy, high school graduate went to college. When Pearl Harbor was attacked he stayed at college, then transferred to another one.

In 1943 Carter secured a slot to Annapolis class of 1947.

Because of the accelerated war program he graduated in the summer of 1946, alas, missing all of WWII by a year.

Knowing how passionately he has lived his life, it must have been very difficult for him to control his urges to get involved in the war of his generation.

Maybe...if you peel the paint off of the award...you'll discover it's really The Inept Buffoon Award.

"How a great country came to be led by someone like Jimmy Carter is a historical puzzle that is likely to remain unsolved. One thing is certain - the Nobel Peace Prize Committee disgraced itself when it rewarded Jimmy Carter for his misplaced moral righteousness while its chairman denounced the President of the United States for taking a stand that will actually promote a more peaceful world."

Jimmy Carter was elected because of silly people voting blindly. Jimmy Carter has paved the way for people like Bill Clinton, and Algore.
