I don't even think it has footage from the last day of his life. It is the footage from the last EPISODE/ADVENTURE he was working on.
I have not let the kids see it yet. I have this set to record. We can have a Croc Hunter day tomorrow.
Thank you for your very well-stated response to me. In answer to your question above, I am absolutely convinced that at least a portion of the all-negative-all-the-time people are paid propagandists. This may sound far-fetched to those who are not aware of what's going on elsewhere on the internet, where, in addition to predators of all stripes:
--> bloggers and reviewers are being paid under the table by companies to give great reviews to their products,--> well-funded front groups from across the political spectrum, and from around the world, are using online forums to spread their propaganda.
I've particiapted on FR for a long time now, and these days I mostly just lurk just as you do. Other than one weekend thread I do regularly, I post only when something strikes a particular chord.
Indeed.
Was this on TV and might it be repeated? I'd like to see her again... last time I saw her she was still so devastated it broke my heart. I do hope she can find the joy she once had again.
By the time this extreme makeover passes into history, the Darwin Award will rank right up there alongside the Nobel Peace prize.
Love that picture!
That is a great idea!
What are yu talking about?
I just saw some clips from the National Press Club on Fox News yesterday. Terri seems to be doing well. She even interjected a little comedy in her speech. It was funny the way she was talking about how they helped some farmers protect their crops from elephants and they taught them to plant chili peppers around the perimeter of the crops. She made a funny face and said elephants hate chili peppers blech!!! It was cute to see that. She didn't look as thin as she did from the Barbara Walters interview.
Thank you dearly for the reminder. Those who interrupt this thread just never watched long enough to see the essence of Steve. And what a spirit they have missed.

Hey True Blue, don't say you've gone
Say you've knocked off for a smoko
And you'll be back later on
Hey True Blue, Hey True Blue
Give it to me straight
Face to face
Are you really disappearing,
Just another dying race,
Hey True Blue.
True Blue, is it me and you?
Is it Mum and Dad, is it a cockatoo?
Is it standing by your mate
When he's in a fight?
Or will she be right?
True Blue, I'm asking you...
Hey True Blue, can you bear the load?
Will you tie it up with wire,
Just to keep the show on the road?
Hey True Blue, Hey True Blue, now be Fair Dinkum
Is your heart still there?
If they sell us out like sponge cake
Do you really care?
Hey True Blue.
True Blue, is it me and you?
Is it Mum and Dad, is it a cockatoo?
Is it standing by your mate
When she's in a fight?
Or will she be right?
True Blue, I'm asking you...
True Blue, is it me and you?
Is it Mum and Dad, is it a cockatoo?
Is it standing by your mate
When he's in a fight?
Or will she be right?
True Blue ... True Blue.
--->Smoko
To 'knock off for a smoko' is to have a break for a coffee, tea or cigarette.
--->True Blue
Steadfast loyal Australian who displays the Aussie ideals of a fair go for all, mateship, having a go, and solving problems.
--->Fair Dinkum
Virtually the same as True Blue - honest, reliable, trustworthy, dinki-di; someone who has embraced the Aussie attitudes to everything, especially mateship. 'Are you fair dinkum?' means 'are you telling the truth?'
Crocodile hunter's Steve Irwin's daughter onstage in NYC with animals
Excerpt:
Bindi Irwin appeared on stage Saturday as part of the annual Australia Week tourism promotion, singing about snakes and eagles while fellow cast members held live animals.
Yes we do.
Thanks for the ping
I applaud this family for moving forward!.. just as Steve did when his mom was killed in the car accident. People handle grief in all different ways. It doesn't mean they don't miss him... it just means that they choose not to curl up in a ball and die!
We too will be watching this evening. And he would be so proud of his "troops" and the way his precious Bindi is. He taught them well.
The Aussie's are much like Texans... we pull ourselves up by the bootstraps and go forward with life. It IS for the living.
Nana
*With Tears, I Love you, Steve Irwin.*
Amen to your Entire Wonderful Post, Dear (((((Nana)))))!
Terri said she destroyed it? I didn't know she had made that statement. Before, she had said she would decide what to do with it later, which is what I wanted to happen. *oh well - she didn't ask me*
Yep, she sure did.
I've seen clips all week on various MSM programs and saw Bindi on Letterman last week, when she and Terri finally made it to NYC (there had been a mix-up earlier in the week as to when she would be on this show, and I missed them on Leno when they were in L.A.).
On Letterman, Terri was so funny because Bindi kept answering all the questions, even if Letterman had asked her mom. Terri at one point said "I'm bowing out here - by all means, Bindi" - and then gestured with her hands, like 'it's all yours, take it away Bins'.
Letterman thought it was funny, too - I don't think he was quite prepared for the little one's precociousness.
She's just having a ball with the Wiggles and some snakes and things. Dance, dance, dancing her sadness away. I think Terri was dancing in one of the clips with the Wiggles, too.
I don't have the option of seeing the Animal Planet special, but I would probably try to watch it, if I did - then I might have to turn it off if I were crying too hard.
