You certainly are entitled to your opinion.

I am also entitled to mine, and my opinion is that you are a bitter old snarky tart with a very wide streak of envy over the Irwin family's fame and success.

This is a happy and fulfilled family who has devoted their life's work to educating the public about wildlife. I think it's fantastic. I"m sorry they have tragically lost their beloved husband and father way too soon, just as I am sorry for any family that has gone through that tragedy. Some think Steve was asking for it, but I am glad he exposed my kids to such wonderful animals through his shows on Animal Planet.

I obviously don't know you personally, but that opinion is drawn from an alarming number of posts you have made on the Irwin threads.

What makes YOU so high & mighty as a member of the human race? The Lord put all species here to be appreciated. What makes you so superior? For all we know, there could be other life forms that thinks we (humnas) are inconsequential and part of their food chain. Have some respect. Animals have contributed a lot to this earth. For example, their are cancer sniffing dogs etc...

Did I stumble onto a thread at a PETA site???

I have a great appreciation for animals - but PEOPLE FIRST.

One thing I never envy is fame. I have seen it up close and it can be a double-edged sword. Success I have, so no need to envy anyone.

I;m sure most animals would be more likeable than YOU and much more pleasant to be around.

Well, I see your point. I certainly would enjoy a lobster dinner more than conversing with certain FReepers. :)

Anytime people post in a manner that appears to put animals above people, I will be protesting. Animals certainly have their place in this world, but imbuing them with rights and status that only humans should have, is something I am against. It is the argument of the kooks who want to stop animal testing in the pursuit of cures for diseases that afflict humans. I would sacrifice a thousand animals to save one child. Yes I would. Further, I think Steve Irwin, and (Siegfried and Roy for that matter) on some level treated dangerous animals like trained pets. That message was taken in by children all over the world. What a rude and painful awakening these children have now experienced.

Obviously you never watched Stev'e shows because you have absolutely no idea about what you are talking about and you sound like a fool.
I would never agree with animal testing with all the ways there are to test things these days, it is not necessary. If it were necessary, convicted criminals would make much better subjects for testing.

Well, I guess I have smoked you out. You are indeed against animal testing. You DO consider animals equal to people, or perhaps, even superior. I consider those who hold that view no better than the PETA loonies. There is NOTHING Conservative about that view, BTW.

And for the record, I have watched Steve Irwin's show. I found him irritating. That said, I am truly sorry he died and left his young family so bereft.

But not to worry. The show must (and will) go on!

Of course I am against animal testing. It is certainly not a secret. Nothing to smoke out--you must have marbles for brains or something. It is not necessary these days and even if we did, there is an abundant supply of prisoners that would be available.

You must be a very miserable person. We are trying to celebrate someone's life and death and you come on every single thread that involves Steve's death. Have you looked in a mirror lately? I am officially sick of your harassment so do not post to me again--do you understand? You are not wanted on this thread or any other Steve Irwin thread that I post and I do not want you to post to me again. AM I CLEAR? You seem to have great fun trashing decent people like Steve who have done nothing to deserve you rants and raves. Absolutely sickening.

Sorry to bruise your ego, but I have no recollection of your past posts, and so I had no idea as to your views on animal testing. Not to be soft on crime, but didn't the Nazis also advocate using humans for all sorts of medical testing? The notion that the prisons should be cleared out in order to save cats and rats is rather nutty, IMO.

Lion tamers have been part of the culture for as far back as history has recorded. Steve Irwin in a sense was a modern-day lion tamer. But lions turn. They are beasts. All I am doing is injecting some reality into this situation. I am by no means glad about what happened to Steve Irwin. Nor am I surprised.

I told you I did not want you to post here anymore. Go start your own Steve Irwin thread and see if anyone wants to talk to you. I doubt they will. Quit disrupting thread that are meant to honor a respectable dead man and his I said again--go look in the mirror. I don't think you will like what you see.

I think testing on convicted is a wonderful idea. You sound rather nutty being a prisoner hugger to me.

Nobody owns a thread. And repeated redundant mashing of the abuse button is not an endearing trait.

I'm so glad you allow "stalkers". This was meant to be a thread to honor Steve's memory and she has done nothing but trash him and his family, who are not deserving of this at all. She has absolutely no respect for his life at all and she should start her own thread if that is the course she wants to take. She is not wanted on this thread.

Having him die is so far the closest I've come to losing a loved one.

Lucky you. I have lost too many people, people I knew and loved, people very close to me. Most from cancer. I pray for a cure, or at least continued advancements in quality and length of life for cancer victims. And if some cats and rats have to die in the process, so be it.

It was hard to watch some of his last days/weeks, and to realize that he was just doing what he did best. It's like watching 9/11 footage.

WHAT?? You are comparing someone who courted danger by getting close to aggressive animals, with innocent people who just showed up for work and were savagely murdered by terrorists? It is indeed best for me to now avoid this thread. Way to early in the morning for this...:)
