Perhaps a marauding band of chupacabras mutilated and ate the cows, and then drank the lake to wash them down?

Possible real answer: Fissure opened up and the lake went underground. How did fissure open up? Seismic activity or ice melted allowing the water to escape.

That ain’t nothing. In Louisiana we made an entire lake disappear in less than a day along with reversing the flow of a major waterway and creating temporarily the largest waterfall in Louisiana.

The Andes are in the ring of fire and are on fault lines. Earth cracks andswallow up lakes and change the course of rivers.

Didn't something similar to this happen right before or during the great series of earthquakes near New Madred, Missouri in the early 1880s? Let's hope that another great earthquake isn't in store for Chile like the one that hit in the 1960s. Was that the strongest earthquake ever recorded?

"No one knows what happened."

How can somebody say that? Did he ask everybody?

Whoever it was that drew the giant figures on the ground in the deserts east of the Andes - thousands of years ago - came back to get a drink./sarc

The movie Tremors comes to mind.

What does Kevin Bacon know, and when did he know it?

Yeah, with the rain we’ve been having, five acres is just the runnoff.

5 acres, 100 feet deep would be approximately 162 million gallons at any rate..........
