You know.... she’s a Twin.
I had a bad feeling that this was going to be the last time Tiger plays this year.
. . . or getting asked for autographs, or having his picture taken, or being interviewed, or being a local hero back in NZ, or . . . .
HAHAHAHA! Great line LOL
What I can’t believe is that I watched the entire game. Never in my life have I watched more than one or two holes of a Match Game. I must be getting old.
I followed it all afternoon on line, and then when it was over and they were tied I had no idea what the next procedure was.
When I got home I saw Tiger standing w/ the trophy and I had to go on line to figure out what happened!
I going to start limping and wince in pain at the end of my follow though. It should cut 4 to 5 strokes off my score.
The announcer was talking about this Sudden Death Match that was coming up. So I stayed glued to the TV. Crazy me, thinking they’re going to beat each other to death with their golf clubs. But why aren’t the people getting excited? I was wondering if the announcer was some sort of phsychic. It was all BS. He lied! Nobody died, Rocco and Tiger are both fine. They played a bit longer and Tiger won. Shook hands with Rocco, hugged his baby daughter, said thanks to everyone and it was over.
I did find it interesting that on this one hole the announcer said Tiger is going to shoot this ball to the right. He always does on this hole and danged if he didn’t shoot it to the right. I would have thought that a big heavyweight golfer like Tiger could correct some mistakes.
I am totally not a sports fan, and think watching golf is as boring as watching grass grow. However, my husband watches, and I have to admit, of any athlete out there, Tiger is the only one who is not only an amazing athlete, but a nice guy and probably deserves all of the accolades he gets. I hope he gets well to play more, but if not, he has been a wonderful thing for the sport of golf.
susie
I don't know about that. It was great theater to watch an injured Woods go against everyone else, and the almighty TV ratings will probably go down because of it, but personally, I'll be glad to see golfers other than King Tiger have a chance to shine.
But that's just me, your "typical white person", as Lord Obama would say.
“It takes a long time to heal.”
Not anymore. Tiger will od fine and he will be bcak on the course in a surprisingly short time.
Tiger is amazing. My mother-in-law has:
1. Never played golf.
2. Never hit a golf ball.
3. Never held a golf club.
4. As far as I know has never had a golf club in her presence.
5. Never misses a TV tournament with Tiger in it.
However, I'm bummed. I love to see Tiger win and the sooner he breaks Jack's record the better! It will be so exciting when he ties, and phenomenal when he breaks it.
If he doesn’t repair his knee and allow it to heal his ability will deteriorate. I’m glad he’ll take the time to recuperate.
They are harder to recover from than broken bones and frequently take a player out for over six months.
The ligament typically has to be reattached and has to graft itself back to the bone. The medical resources that Tiger will use are certainly no better than World Class footballers use, in fact I suspect Tiger will turn to those same resources to fix his problem since they have a lot of experience in dealing with ACL problems.
Once whatever surgery is need has been completed, there is only so much you can do to accelerate recovery. A return to action too soon just exacerbates the problem. But if Tiger's problem is only a minor tear then that will certainly improve his chances of playing sooner.
The ability to recover from ACL surgery is vastly improved from what it was when I had it done (1984).
Football player’s knees have to bear much more weight than Tiger’s and their recovery is more difficult. He will do fine.
18 months after my ACL surgery (complete replacement with ligaments from my thigh) I played in my first Table Tennis tournament. I went on to play in quite a few over the next several years.
He will do exactly as his doctors tell him to do and he will be fine.
Kinda reminded me of Kirk Gibson hobbling around the bases after keeping the Dodgers alive.
Now, to you naysayers about professional golf being a lazy man's game. Try hitting 200-300 golf balls a day, putting for 2-3 hours, chipping for 1-3 hours a day, playing Sunday to Sunday for 3-7 hours a day, in all kinds of conditions of wind, rain, heat, cold, then come back and tell me it's a lazy man's game.
Reminded me of G. Gordon Liddy :)
More evidence that Tiger has chemically built up his body. His joints, bones, ligaments, etc. weren’t intended to support the unnatural muscle mass.
Frequent injuries are a hallmark of this kind of cheating.

Lay down the crack pipe.
My son is 8 years old and a pretty good golfer. Since he could walk, he has had a golf clubs, starting with plastic and now has a set of Pings. The first professional golfer he could recognize was Tiger Woods. Although he does not actually watch golf tournaments, I know someday he will. I hope Tiger is still playing well by the time my son is a fan of the PGA so he can appreciate just how good he is and was. If Tiger is not able to come back and dominate the way he has, my son, as well as many other young kids will miss out of something very special.
