I have a 37" Vizio that I got at Sam's Club last May for $648. It is a fantastic TV, especially for the money.
And get a quality HDMI cable. Absolutely essential. Good luck!
If it’s a bedroon TV Vizio is great. family Room i would go with any
Sony Bravia or Samsung.

Once you have one you’ll see, bigger is better, it’s not like you have to sit far away from these modern TV’s either, 32 or 37 in a modern widescreen is not a very big TV.
What size would you recommend for viewing from 10-15 feet away, as in a bedroom?

No such thing as a “quality” HDMI cable. Don’t spend 100 dollars at best buy, etc. and a monster cable. Go to monoprice.com or bluejeanscable.com and get the EXACT same cable for 5 bucks.
10-15 feet away, as big as you can get, I have a 55 inch Sony LCD in my bedroom and a 60 inch Sony LCD in my living room. They are both the kind with the stands, not a panel that you hang on the wall. They’re great TV’s, even the guys at AVS forum have been snatching them up if you can still find them, everything is going flat panel.
If money was no object I would go for a Pioneer/Panasonic Plasma, if I was budgeting I would look for my type of tv or the biggest 720p lcd or plasma I can find. Go to AVS forum and you can find tons of information, personally I don’t care for DLP’s, I think the picture on the LCD’s and Plasmas are “stronger” if that makes any sense.

At 32” it is not likely to matter.
Additionally, consider what your source material is likely to be.
For example, my DishNetwork HD boxes are 720p native resolution. Having it upscale to 1080p may improve it, and then again, often it does not.
The xbox360 will display a 1080p picture, as will the ps3, and in games where they are encoded in 1080p it is stunning. That said, MOST games are encoded in 720p natively and the tv, through the hdmi cable and xbox/ps3, auto set it to 720p. So there is not advantage in those games.
Realistically, if you are coming from a 27” tube, you will be impressed with 720p because it is significantly better. If you can afford the 1080p and it is not that much more in price, it is probably worth getting as source content improves over the years and more 1080p sources are available. However, that said, you will be very happy with 720p and the difference in most cases is negligible.

I agree about something other than vizio but for a 32” TV, 720p is fine.

you are absolutely right. Digital is digital. People get suckered into buying expensive hdmi/digital cables and there’s not need for it. The power of marketing.
Do you ever watch TV with the lights off? If you do, I would avoid the Vizio.
LCDs don’t have great contrast and it would be worse than most. It looks great in the show room and with the lights on but when you turn the lights off all of the areas that should be black are muddy gray.
3000:1 contrast will look good with dim light. The Vizios are like 1200:1 or even less.

Unfortunately, today’s Cable Card isn’t two-way, so you can’t order pay per view or movies on demand from Comcast. If you want those features, you are stuck for the time-being with a box.
I don’t watch TV with the lights off—I tend to crash into things if I do that.
Much good information has been provided. One additional note, Vizio is an American company.
VIZIO from Costco in four months. Prices are suppose to be going down again...
My suggestion would be to get a 52"... Samsung.... unless you don't have room on your wall for it. :^)
