If they in fact exist, and if our own planet's history is any indication of how things turn out when advanced civilization meets primitive society, we are toast. I fully expect they won't be friendly at all. The Europeans didn't sail across the storm-tossed Atlantic to the Americas just to shake hands and say "Howdy!"
