A Toledo woman, who allegedly put her fist through a fast-food drive-through window after being told her order couldn't be filled, appeared in court Saturday on a felony vandalism charge.
Melodi Dushane, 24, of 1332 Felt St. became "upset that chicken nuggets weren't available" and "punched out the drive-through window," according to Toledo police.
Police were called Friday to the McDonald's restaurant at 90 Main St., where Ms. Dushane was arrested.
Before Ms. Dushane was booked into the Lucas County jail, she was treated at Mercy St. Charles Hospital for injuries sustained when she allegedly punched at the window.
Ms. Dushane pleaded not guilty to the charge yesterday in Toledo Municipal Court.

Without making the jump to the article, in the former case, the woman who called 911 had ordered McNuggets, PAID for McNuggets, and then told “choose something else” because they didn’t HAVE McNuggets and REFUSED to give her a refund. That’s bait and switch. A crime in business practices.
The manager handled it wrong. She was wrong to call 911 but she was within her rights to call law enforcement to file a grievance against the business for their operation. She needed a non-emergency number. And her case would’ve gone for days without any attention.
There are times I drop my last cash at a counter to get something to eat and I can say that I’d be upset too if they got my money and then refused to give me the product or a refund and told me “get something else, same price”.
Judging from my impression of her mother, I’d say the odds are stacked against her daughter turning into something positive for America.
Yep, it sure seems to be a stupid way to run a business.
In the past when I have purchased food near the closing time I have been lucky enough to get a counter clerk that asked the kitchen if they had what I wanted before taking my money.
Did she have a couple of screaming toddlers in the back seat demanding their Happymeals? It might be justifiable windowcide.
Alcohol without a doubt.
I’ve seen something similar where a guy got out of his car and came out and slugged me. They refused his order in the drive through, and the guy jumped out of his car again, and grabbed the teller and tried to pull her through the window.
Next day the cops pulled up to his address and arrested him. He said he couldn’t remember a thing of what he did that night, and pleaded no contest.
that was classis 911 audio:
“she say she ARE the manager”
she say she ARE the manager
Funny, and we wonder why she made that great executive decision? I don’t know about you, but I would have left
with or without the nuggets and never looked back.
Sometimes there is just no dealing with stupid.
Have you ever heard the saying "A fake blonde is the truest blond"?
Alcohol was my first thought as well. It was New Year's Day...perhaps she'd been on a bit of a holiday bender?
The manager dropped the ball and bought a lot of bad publicity for a couple of bucks IMHO.
Her fiance, a “Mister T. Woods” of Orlando, Fla. had no comment....
“Whos gonna tell her shes guilty?
Not me!”
I always knew you were a coward. ;)
