Papa Joe bootlegged Scotch whisky during Prohibition. Scotch and Irish whisky’s are of course quite similar in taste, and many would not be able to tell which was which...unless it was Black Bush from the Bushmills distillery (oldest licensed in the world) in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
A warship of the day carried more rum than fresh water.

Didn’t these guys all perish there? This might shed some light on what happened. Maybe they all got plastered and on a whim decided to get naked and run outside their hut and make snow angels or something. Who knows. Hard liquor + deathly cold = maybe not so good an idea.
People knew how to live back in the day. I envy their freedom and spirits.
Its how they kept warm. After a few shots, the northern lights looked reeeal good.
