You were fortunate. In Texas, hubby sent the child support, had the children most of the time at our house, and did not get to claim children as dependents - this was the 1990’s.

The “kid” in question is the one that just retired from the Air Force as a LTC. The “father’s” name is Urban.
The years went by. Douglas said she tried again through private attorneys to find him and get the support payment when Gerald was about 5 or 6 years old, then gave up. She married and had two more children. She worked for many years managing medical groups before retiring. Gerald spent 32 years in the Air Force and recently retired as a lieutenant colonel, she said.

Same think happened to me after the first two years. Plus I had to pay back taxes for dependents not allowed for the first two.
