The southeast section of Omaha is almost completely Latino. Nicknamed “Oma-Habla” by some.
We have a huge illegal population in other parts of the state that the meatpacking plants employ, and they eventually gravitate to here.
Omaha South is mostly known for nothing much at all. Their soccer team making the state final this year was one of the first bright spots in the school’s history.

A few years back I read an article about a high school in Los Angeles. Apparently, when Hispanic immigrant students run around the track, Hispanic students who were born in the US will taunt them, shouting, “Run! Run! Immigration! Immigration!”

Meatpacking. It’s the same reason that rural eastern North Carolina has a surprisingly high proportion of illegals. Out here, a lot of them work in the hog-processing plants down east. Meat processing is hard work and can be very dangerous. The big conglomerates that run the plants bring in illegals, look the other way at their status, underpay them, work the hell out of them in brutal conditions because they know the illegals will keep silent, then throw them to the curb when they end up crippled due to accidents or repetitive stress injuries. And that leaves the illegal and their family stuck on the dole, with our tax dollars paying for their medical care.
I want the illegals back in Mexico or wherever, but I also want to see some of these businessmen doing serious hard time, because they’re a huge part of the illegal immigrant problem in places like Nebraska, and here in NC.
