The word out of Green Bay a few years ago was that Favre was "very high maintenance" and didn't help the locker room morale. Over the last couple of years we have seen why the Packers really didn't care if he retired. As one commentator said when Favre arrived in Minneapolis: "The ego has landed."
But how could that be, we had 12 threads that said he was waived.... :-)
If they could, the Pats would have - but Minn. only gave them a 4th rounder for him, and now his stock's gone down even further.
I grew up in Green Bay just a couple blocks from Lambeau.
There are a lot of stories up there that just never leave town. Always has been that way.
Ken Stills was a neighbor years ago - watching the carnage of a typical weekend at his place with Tim Harris and co. was truly an education.
Even with higher profile and higher financial stakes, some things never change.
And the money paid to Favre was GUARANTEED! Now say what you want about Favre but he completely screwed that organization over. Now the Vikings have no QB, (Tavaris Jackson, LOL), their receivers are shot, and the defense is just not the same. Chad Clifton of the Packers completely P3WNED Jared Allen. This team will end up no higher than 4-12, tops.
AMEN!
It’s bad enough that Childress is bald and wears glasses, but he does nothing to instill confidence by adding a sweater to his repertoire. He looks like a history professor, rather than a football coach.
Careful. There are a few posters on this board who have massive mancrushes on Farve and I’ve been flamed for bringing up these facts in the past.
I’m sure they were brought to tears last night at the sight of their hero holding his chin and being driven towards the locker room.
Yep. At least me Cowboys sucked before they lost their Pro-bowl QB.
