I have traveled, worked an lived around a good bit of the U.S. and as a general rule, you're right. I would say that my favorite "local" meats have been Kansas bison (I still order jerky from a place near Ft. Riley) and since moving to Louisiana, I've been very pleasantly surprised by the quality of local steaks here.
I think the difference is the steak in that part of the world is corn fed. I know every steak I’ve ever eaten in Kansas City or in Nebraska was a lot better than anything I’ve ever eaten here in Texas.
But I’ll go there to eat it. I just don’t trust what’s coming in the mail. Nor will I buy OMAHA steaks off from some guy who knocks on the front door selling steaks out of his truck. I actually know people who’ve done that.
OK, and we believe that advertizing on America’s left-wing mainstream media constitutes an endorsement of those political views. We don’t buy products from entities that express left-wing views.

Hate to be this way but as long as it isn’t in my mailbox or trash anymore they can put it anywhere they want to.
Junk mail is a shame. Just like many, it is the stuff I have to shred that won’t stop that gets my dander up. Credit card checks mainly, the ones with your CC# to just fill in the amount of the advance you “want”.

Omaha Steak makes an awful product. I highly recommend Allen Brothers in Chicago.
The last two guys who knocked on my door trying to sell me crap out of the back of their truck got to have a nice little overnight nap in jail courtesy of the Sheriff. Happens every time they ignore my No Trespassing signs. Committing Criminal Trespass will do that.....

What are Beck’s political views? Support of the Constitution, freedom for the individual, and capitalism. Omaha Steaks does not support the very system that allows it to make money? “Shop at Omaha Steaks! We support Socialism!” Not much of a slogan.

I used to sell ‘em Australian lobster tails at maybe 19 bucks a pound.....in their catalogue, they’d tout a price of a little over $90.00.
I said almost exactly that in my response to their response!
I did that early this morning and the same “Julie” responded that I was going off their spam list.
Not a big fan of Mr. Beck, but I will certainly from now on resist any temptation to purchase anything from Omaha Steaks. And as a professional aside, I have to wonder whether the marketing geniuses in their company think they will gain any business in pissing off conservatives, who I expect are more likely to be interested in and possess the means to purchase “premium” cuts of beef.
That’s the street they’re on alright. My kids have sent us a gift box from time to time and we live in the Omaha area. They’re too pricey and in this area you can find a lot of good places to buy steaks and beef as well as the other products they sell.
