This seems as silly as the so-called "hate crime" laws.
So, if a bicyclist is snatcher purses, or “european carryalls”, ...you can’t complain?

Well, since most cyclists are pretty gay anyway, I think it already was a hate crime.
Silly, if they are criminals just call 911 and wait until the police show up to secure the situation. (you may want to have a couple of meals handy for your wait)

As the number of these new groups of “Lordships” increase the main problem for normals becomes self protection. How does a normal protect his physical health, property and liberty to move about unimpeded? It is a real problem. What does one do when three bicyclists hog an entire lane for miles? They need swift and severe punishment but unfortunately there are often witnesses. People will have to think of possible solutions.
I cant see how any with half a brain would even think of riding a bicycle on this road.
There are hay hauling 18 wheelers & horse haulers that take up the whole lane.

We're starting to see that around here also - and it's dangerous. Hilly, curvy 2-lane roads are no place for a bicycle when cars with drivers are actually trying to get to their destination in a reasonable amount of time. They're starting to assemble and ride in larger groups now, blocking entire lanes. That needs to stop before someone gets hurt.
I almost think that some dare a vehicle to hit them because if they do they will hammer them with the full force of the law if they do.(if they survive...)

I’ve seen the door thing happen, not nice. I’ve never had that experience- if I scoot faster than traffic, I do it on the outside or middle lane to avoid that. It’s hard for people parking to see me if I come up at 30 mph just to the right of traffic, so I don’t do it.

Would it help to put up a couple of those roadside memorial crosses with a few bent bicycle parts scattered mearby?

who cut off bicyclists or who open doors directly in their paths? Happens all the time to me here in New York City.

If bicyclists obeyed traffic laws you wouldn’t generate the contempt ,,, stop splitting lanes , passing cars waiting at lights and running lights and stop signs... You want respect ? It’s time for you to earn some.
