Obviously the picture was taken with a flash. There is a strong shadow behind the guy at the far left, one behind the blond guy in the middle, and behind 0bama. There is even a shadow behind the girl’s right arm. The flash was probably mounted on top of the camera, where many cameras have an accessory shoe.
