Meteorology is a science, and scientists as a whole are not particularly infamous for being poofters. Geeks maybe, but not poofters.
The meteorology professional folks apparently are allowing these tv weather readers to call themselves meteorologists. Perhaps they pay a fee and attend a two hour class or something. I know our local guy couldn’t read a weather rock

Well I liked Mike Francis but of course he is having the last laugh now. He is in the Atlanta market making into 6 figures and doing well. Good for him.
I didn't dislike him, but his delivery put me to sleep.
I don't watch broadcast news any more (get everything from the internet); do subscribe to the online edition of the state paper and of course am glued to the TV after tornado alerts but think KATV does the best job for that coverage.
