I have never seen Obama give an extemporaneous speech that was good. He ums and ahs and stumbles along. People got caught up in a fevered wave, and you are still there. Obama says one thing on Monday and the reverse on Tuesday. He is somewhere between inarticulate and confused.

Rick has maybe 80 hours to dump his prim little campaign team and bring in some sharks as his new pals. No one is telling his story, which is the Texas story that everyone WAS interested in, back when the Tea Party rocked on fiscal sanity. The TP early on was not shooting itself in the foot by splitting the theme on a thousand other issues, or scratching its itch on immigration just yet. The Tea Party was sticking to its singlular issue of reversing fiscal catastrophe, restoring freedom from regulations, cussing bail outs and take overs. They were then flying high with even broader support from more than just their own, but also Independents and moderate types.

We are incapable of keeping it simple. Incapable! We are instead going to eat our own and do it publically. We are going to back the only conservative who can’t win and do it with arrogance and flourish. No body cares who has delivered the goods in JOBS, and fiscal responsibility for ten straight years. They don’t care because he can’t debate. He can do the job, he can prove conservative principles work every time they’re tried, because he’s not a show horse, he can get out of the way of business, fight EPA Marxists, put a lock on the border (within the confines of federal law), and deliver half the jobs in all the nation, but, he can’t debate. We now find ourselves with the Maine twins at the top of our polls. Obamalite in Romney, and Romneylite in Cain. Well, go figure.

“This article is about 6 weeks too late.”
/// exactly correct.

also, the author ignores his own premise. “electable.”
right now, polls show ANY of the his six could beat Obama.
and Perry is simply NOT the most electable of them now.

so, his conclusion of Perry, is doubly wrong.

He said he was for “the most conservative candidate that is electable.” Unfortunately, conservatives today are not following Buckley’s wise advice and strategic counsel.

Since any of them can beat Obama
(who will go down much further next year, as Solyndra and “Fast and Furious” become better known),
we have a unique opportunity here,
to actually TAKE Buckley’s advice, and select the most conservative !

PS the “foreign policy” leg of Perry, is a little weak regarding Mexico, and Islam... in spite of his great foreign policy experience...

I’ll never stop promoting Rick Perry or Herman Cain. If you’re going to vote Romney why have an election other than to oust the anti-American Mozlem terrorist in our White House. Romney will not make the hard decisions that have to be made. He will just maintain the status quo up another margin and we’ll be stagnating in socialism again the first time somebody says we must do it for the children.

Perry will knock the EPA on its butt! Open up all the fields both oil, gas, and mining and get this country producing again. How many good jobs would that produce almost instantly? As well as get us off the import oil dole which will keep our oil dollars in the US as well.

Cain is a brilliant mathematician and engineer/problem solver who can get right to the core of our nation’s finances.

I would love to see a Perry/Cain ticket. The combination would be dynamic.

Those of you calling him La Raza Rick simply have the stupids. He met with them once, told them there would be no immigration reform until the border is secure and the insurgance stopped. And that they need to apply for citizenship the legal way.

You folks need to look at facts instead of the democratic lies.

“On the other hand, many evangelicals and tea party supporters are behaving as ideological purists. In their effort to choose the most conservative candidate (irrespective of their ability to win) they are violating Buckley’s principle and as a result are unknowingly helping the GOP establishment secure the nomination of Mitt Romney.

There is only one scenario where this can be stopped: Evangelical and tea party conservatives must immediately unite behind Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Rick Perry is the most conservative candidate who is also electable.

On all three legs of Ronald Reagan’s winning issue coalition, economics, social issues and foreign policy, Rick Perry should be the conservative’s choice.

Perry is also the most electable candidate in the general election. The campaign in November of 2012 will be about one thing - jobs. Gov. Perry has the best record on creating new jobs and revitalizing the economy. “

If only people would stop and think and look at the FACTS, instead of allowing themselves to be influenced by the LIES told about Perry, to turn conservatives against him.

You believe what you want to believe and I'll believe what I want to believe and I believe that Cain and Romney are in this together. I'm sure it wasn't in the plan for Cain to overtake Romney but we'll see what happens.

Cain being willing to be VP for Romney but not Perry when Perry has a far more conservative record, raises great big yellow flags.

What you believe is unproven propaganda from a sinking Perry campaign. These are the facts...

The problem is Cain has said he would not be Perry’s VP, but he will be Romney’s VP. What more does anyone need to know about Cain?

Unlike you personally pkdan, others here pay attention to what groups (former democrat and Texas campaign manager for Al Gore) speaks to and what he says there.

Unfortunately for RINO Rick and his Rockefeller Republican supporters... we are calling him on it.

Neither he nor you can make his past political moves go away by cutesy but false rejoinders.
