I’m all for people thinking for themselves—but the fact of the matter is, a lot of people simply don’t

That should describe liberals, conservatives should be better than that.

I’d say most people here on FR tend to make up their own minds and tend to be pretty opinionated about it. Endorsements don’t matter that much to most of us.

But the typical voter isn’t like the typical FR poster. Put yourself in their shoes: They’re not going to suddenly bloom into independent-minded, critical-thinking human beings within the next month or so. So, pragmatically speaking, having endorsements from SP, RL, etc. would be pretty helpful at this particular juncture in time.

Those people are in the entertainment business. They are ENTERTAINERS. Enjoy their shows / writings. If they teach you something you didn’t already know, that’s great.

But don’t take any of them too seriously.

A lot of primary voters are NOT up to speed. Sadly there are a lot of sheep in the GOP. Witness Romney’s success. Strong endorsements by conservative luminaries could help address that problem IMHO.

Ditto. We have decades of Leftist public school education to undo.

Can’t think for yourself huh? Need a little help? Both liberal positions. Go over to the DUmp....they will help you out, tell you what/how/why/when to think. You can also follow along as they bash Rush, Hannity and the rest of those you mentioned. Good luck.

I guess you might have a point..........

But I happen to think that folks that listen to Rush are informed, and way up to speed.

The SHEEP in the GOP...don't listen to CONSERVATIVES.

That should describe liberals, conservatives should be better than that.

"Should" being the operative word; fact of reality is, they're not much better—at least not your typical primary voter. If they were better, Romney would obviously be in single digits.

We all know full and well most primary voters aren't paying close attention; but when they do hear an influential figure from the Right weigh in, it matters to them. I believe this is the segment of the population that nikos1121's post is directed towards; not us FR posters.

If endorsements from influential figures didn't matter, why is Chris Christie out there stumping for Romney? Because it has a very practical purpose in swaying the mushy majority of GOP primary voters.

>>I think Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, Hannity, Bill (I’m looking out for you) O’REilly, Donald Trump, Huckabee and all the rest of the so called conservative journalists and politicians out there are COWARDS OF THE WORST KIND.<<

.
You have to realize that these “conservatives” do not have a dog in this fight.

They are like our congresscritters — whatever the outcome of the elections, they will continue to make a pile of money.

Don’t make waves — make money!

Mark Levin endorsed Santorum and Bachmann.

I don’t see that it did either of them a lot of good.

I think just about everyone on this site has a favorite candidate. They read articles, listen to the debates and we express ourselves. Jim Robinson came out a few weeks ago for Newt, and I think it opened up some frank discussion.

Unfortunately, 40% of NH voters are undecided OR say they may switch their mind. 50% in FL are the same way.

It would be nice if everyone were like us, but there are many people out there who don’t read papers, don’t watch the debates etc. They may be too busy working, or sleeping to work the night shift. Who knows.

There’s a lot of mis information out there also. These are the people who will decide the primary and the election.

I can understand that we need to let the primary process run to completion, and that’s fine.

But if it comes down to Newt vs Romney which I’m praying it will, and the above listed people still refuse to weigh in with their endorsement, then they’re even bigger cowards.

I’ve been for Newt for weeks now. I’ve expressed that openly here and with people whom I meet.

“I don’t mind their waiting to make an endorsement.

What I do object to is that they have not stepped forward to moderate a debate.”

I agree with you on that.

You can't make your mind up for yourself??? You need someone to tell you for whom to vote. Grow up and grow a set. Do your research and make your choice--stop waiting for somebody to tell you for whom to vote.

That is the American way, liberty to decide for yourself.

And those people probably aren’t listening to Rush or catching the random missives from Palin. They’re making their decisions their way. There’s no reason for them to make endorsements. Remember they’re in it for the money. There’s nothing cowardly about protecting their margin. They ain’t saving the world.

Endorsements don’t mean a hill of beans to me, especially from entertainers, political talking heads, or their spouses. All the current candidates have baggage, some more than others. Santorum is the best choice for President given the slate of candidates we have (Pro-life advocate). Perry is my second choice, even though he’s not polling very well. Newt has plenty of issues that would prevent me from supporting him in the primaries (gorebull warming, poor judgement, trust issues). Depending on the running mate selected, those are the only candidates I could vote for in the general election. Never Romney and no way in hell I would support a crank like Misses Paul. Any others are totally off my radar.

Even though he doesn’t endorse, you can tell what he thinks about them. He was kinda hard on Romney today.

I can’t think of one person who has endorsed Willard “50 abortioner and Obama-lite” Flopney who I consider a true conservative.
