Then your not comparing scripture to science. If you want to compare the two then you have to take the literal meaning of the words. If the Bible needs to be interpreted then it is useless as an explanation of anything. Words have specific meanings and if you change the words that are in scripture you change the meaning. There can be and are thousands of different interpretations of Genesis and how are we to know which one is right. You Asserted that scripture parallels the discoveries of science. You did not add “if you allow it to” which means if you rationalize and change the meaning of the scriptures to fit the data. It was the form of your statement that prompted me to reply.
I am still genuinely interested in hearing your reasons for why a person should think of others before himself. If you mean that we should think of the consequences of our actions and how they effect others I would agree 100% but that is not usually the meaning people have when they say that. If you mean that we should put the good of others before our own good then I think that is unspeakably evil.
I'd say "unique".
