Heh, whenever my buddy and I would pass the state police barracks up here, we would simultaneously break into a hearty, deep-throated rendition of the Soviet national anthem (using, of course, some kind of pidgin language that seemed to sound like Russian to us!)

I don’t thing “chipper” is a Russian trait.

I personally would not give a rat’s patootie about it, except for the fact that they seem determined to MAKE it my business by shaping public policy to it, exposing it to kids in schools and making it mandatory to accept it as normal behavior.
If not for that, it would be between them and God, and I wouldn’t care a whit.
