Most young idealists fall for the left’s siren song of
“don’t you want to help people?”
Of course they do, we all do. At their age, though, they lack the resources (or the gumption) to do so and like the idea of “doing it through the government”.
Advocacy-based righteousness.
Some mature out of it, some don’t.
