You could have posted this story leaving Joe Paterno out of it.
He is not respected at all.

All this serves to refresh memories. I am remembering now about the boy JS would take out of class without his mother’s knowledge and how the school principle tried to get the mother to not alert the authorities.

It was power. Joe Paterno was the face of Pennsylvania and was a very good development coach.
He took the team to all of the accolades of college football.
He was very smart and talented. He was given all that could be done.
He let that bury him. He praised himself over GOD.
He knew it.
The reason people are hijacking your story is the same reason you posted it. A large number of your posts are meant to deify and protect Joe Paterno, and your user name reflects your devotion to him. Joe was a good coach who stayed longer than he should of, and the thought that somehow he had no powers over who was let into any part of Penn State, let alone the football program is ludicrous. I believe he was basically a good person, who let his vanity take over. He should have stepped down earlier when he began to accept questionable individuals into the program. PSU over the past 15 to 20 years was no better than most programs with covering up player incidents.
I think Paterno got slammed for no real reason and obviously being in his late 70's and dying of cancer, and then dying, its hard to have your day in court....
besides...true colors....stories like these will not get the press that scandal do....

besides....why don't you gang up on all the football players over the decades that were coached by Paterno and Sandusky?....if Paterno was so bad, why haven't the hundreds and hundreds of players come out against him?....
if Sandusky's actions were common knowledge, why did all those players stay silent?...

He was told about JS in 2001. When this broke in the news his first public words were that we should give JS the benefit of the doubt. WTF. HE KNEW AND STILL PROTECTED JS!
According to one account, Paterno supposedly dismissed the story when he first heard of it, saying (words to this effect) that some kids had been fondled, as though it was nothing of import.
