32-bit browser will run on a 64-bit computer

Yes it will. Running the 32bit Pale Moon on one of my laptops. Last I checked Pale Moon was not available for Linux so the other laptop is running the Linux version of FireFox.

As a new user of Pale Moon it seems to be based on Mozilla FireFox. However, I ran into two issues so far and I am researching to fix them.

I bought Internet Download Manager in 2012 to download files and there is virtually no support for Pale Moon so it does not run on the browser. I was told they tried to update the software to a version that would work on Pale Moon but it has a lot of issues so they know that the program has problems but don’t have a Pale Moon version at the moment. So I was told to just go ahead and try Free Download Manager instead, but I also found that in 2013 there were instructions to use it on Pale Moon. I am reading the information first. As a back up program should FDM fail, I was also told at the forum to try FlashGot.

The next Problem is that while I subscribe to Rhapsody for music, not everything is there so I have also been using the free Grooveshark. There is some issue with Pale Moon that will not allow HTML5 Audio to work. So the Grooveshark site is not working. When I go there I get a unavailable message and that I am offline.

But on both Chrome and FireFox the site works fine. So I am forced to use it on another browser unless the issue is fixed or I find a way around it.

The good thing was there was a Ad Block Plus clone for Pale Moon that I installed to block ads and unwanted junk from sites. It was called Ad Block Latitude.

I am testing browsers out as I have some errors on FireFox. I used FF as my main browser for years, but got sick of it having flash problems that would freeze the browser and crash the plugin-container as well as the browser getting slow when using some istes due to flash errors. So that is my reason for wanting to find a better browser.

I have been testing out Chrome, Opera, Comodo IceDragon, another FireFox based browser, WaterFox, yet another FireFox based browser and Epic Browser.

Chrome, Opera, and Epic as well as the new Vivaldi, which is in beta and I have not tried are WebKit based and there are others. But Comodo IceDragon, FireFox, WaterFox, Pale Moon and others such as Torch browser are all Gecko Based.

I also read up on how to deactivate Internet Explorer as it is a crummy browser and I did it. At anytime I can bring it back. Not sure if I will upgrade to Win 10 and how it will be different from Win 7. But I have both a Notebook Laptop and a Tower Desktop and I aim to use the Tower first should I make any changes.

I bought a bigger Hard Drive for the Laptop but never installed it. As such I had to buy a OS to install and went with the same one that it ran on which is Windows 7 Professional while the Tower uses Windows 7 Home. The computers never come with a Installation CD or DVD on purpose so that you have to download or buy one. Instead you make some disc yourself when you run the computer for the first time. But the Notebook was sold to me from a person who did not have a disc made. It was several years ago in 2011. The Tower was a special at MicroCenter that was refurbished.

Right Now testing browsers out on the Laptop.
