On my home network, I have up to six “server” non-computer devices behind the firewall (two currently disconnected): the main router/WAP, a second WAP (disconnected), a network printer, an NAS, a network cable tuner (disconnected), and a Verizon home media DVR/server.
The NAS is definitely a Linux variant, and I suspect the WAPs and printer are also Linux or BSD variants, but frankly, I generally don’t care.
I do run one actual computer server behind the firewall, and that’s a Mac Mini with OS X, obviously. But the point is that more and more “servers” are actually networked devices that run some form of custom OS, or at least a custom kernel.
Is “Office” under business?
That pie chart splits Windows 8 from Windows 8.1. It makes it look worse than it really is. Windows XP isn’t split into the different service packs.
I like Windows 8.1, but I upgraded from Vista.
Maybe it is because MS treats 8.1 as a whole separate OS from 8
First, you get extremely high quality hardware and case.
Second, you get a touchscreen that is optimized for Photoshop and handwriting.
Third, it comes in a package that is cutting-edge thin and light.
But if that is not worth more money to you, then get one of the cheaper tablets out there.
I assure you that you will not be disappointed in a Surface Pro.
I’ve just keep limping along with Vista and my 6 year old laptop and got Carbonite.
When it dies, I’ll just use them to tranfer everything to the my laptop with 8.1 (at least that’s my theory)
Stupid bastages eliminated ‘easy transfer’ with 8.1.
Keep your fingers crossed and hope MS isn’t bankrupting itself if it buy Minecraft. lol
That is what happened to General Motors.

It seems the figure for W/7 is missing a 3 before the 7.
