I used to bring the second Mrs. Lurkin homemade breakfast in bed, on a silver platter.
She never took a shot at me.

Through the door? Looks like she took Biden’s advice and I’d call that reckless.

Soldier, Ft. Bragg trying to surprise his wife who apparenlty had thought he had left for work. What I dont understand is why he didnt disable the alarm system when he returned.Don't forget to discount for bad reporting. Perhaps with his hands full of breakfast he couldn't enter the code in time, the alarm did sound but he turned it off shortly thereafter. The alarmed wife heard the footsteps and did the Biden thing. That is a more likely scenario.
And I would expect military families to be on heightened alert these days since the CinC doesn't have their back.

I wonder if she should be charged.
That was pretty dammed reckless, IMO. I can’t think of many circumstances when it’s a good idea to blindly fire through a door at an unknown target. The woman must be dumb as a fence post.

Ok, I’m a novice shooter, but I know better than to shoot through a door.

Alarms have an entry delay, typically 30 to 60 seconds during which you can disarm the system without the siren going off. He probably came in through a door without a keypad (garage door?) and headed upstairs without disarming it. The the siren triggered when the entry delay expired while he was in the hall. Of course, how did she have the gun at the ready and why didn’t he head to the panel to disarm the system? Maybe he was going to use the closest panel which was probably the one in the MBR where the scared wife was waiting.

Alarm sounds, husband not in bed, shoot through closed door. more to the story. It sounds very similar to the Oscar Pistorius story.

Other sources report he is a Soldier assigned to Fort Bragg.
Oh look! Here is a picture of Tiffany, lifted from her Facebook Page:

He probably was thinking “I turned off the alarm and no burglar could do that so my wife will obviously know it is me”. Meanwhile wife isn’t thinking why the alarm went on and off because she is in freak-out mode.

Do you realize in the event you are forced to protect yourself with a firearm the prosecution will subpoena and search you computer, phone and other electronic devices?
Anything you post online can and will be used and misrepresented against you.
