Nope it ‘s been the deep freeze and a decease that dropped colony counts....I know a bee keeper.
The fact they can’t distinguish between honey bees and bumble bees is your first clue.
Second is the fact they refer to “Global Warming”, which isn’t happening....
So, ummm..., bees survive subzero winters as well as 100+ degree summers, but somehow they’re all bothered by the one-point-something degree Celsius average increase over a span of decades. Are their memories really that good? Someone above asserts that mites are responsible for the demise of the bumbler... do we get prolific mite booms when the avg temp goes up a smidgen over decades? It all sounds far-fetched... far on a scale of light years or parsecs.
I have palm trees in the yard and their flowers are like a mop of bees every time they boom.
