No we DON’T want this, I don’t believe the poll.
YouGov aren’t that accurate anyhow, many of their polls are simply ridiculous.
NK doesn’t have a speed limit? with all the high end sports cars, including Italian and German luxury sports cars, on the road?
that’s crazy.
how fast do thirty year old bicycles go these days?
“56 percent of the public would be in favor of a nationwide speed limit of 150 km/h on Germanys 12,950 kilometers of motorway”
150 Kilometers/hr = 93.2 Miles/hr
So much for “Wir fahren fahren fahren auf der Autobahn...”
Now is the poll answered by a bunch of Berliners stuck riding Deustch-Metro or in a beat up old VW, or by people who actually USE the Autobahn?
A single Fairfield County crone (Adela Eads?) in the CT state legislature made that state one of the very last to do away with the 55 mph speed limit.
I was in a tour bus on the Autobahn and cars were speeding by. The driver said when there is a wreck on the Autobahn, seldom does one survive the wreck due to the high speed.
Autobahns work because Germans have good lane discipline.
Immigrants...not so much.
Sammy Hagar, I can’t drive 93.2...
Anyone else remember Hillary proposing to reinstate the 55 Speed Limit some years back? I do...
I’ve been on an autobahn before. From Georgetown TX to Seguin on Hwy 130. It’s only 85 mph but if you try to drive at that, you’ll get run over.
Clearly those who are in favor of the limit have a sub-200 horsepower vehicle.
There are Seats and diesel G-class Mercedes that don’t drive slower than 90 on the Autobahn.
“Now is the poll answered by a bunch of Berliners stuck riding Deustch-Metro or in a beat up old VW, or by people who actually USE the Autobahn?”
The former obviously, plus probably an amount of people who are environmental lunatics who hate cars and thus people who drive a car.
Their ultimate fantasy as we know is to ban all cars.
Agreed, untrustworthy poll. Only the green nutters want a limit, and those are < 15%.
Their highway death rate is lower than ours. Their low speed accident rate, however, is a bit higher than ours the last time that I compared the stats.
I hit 215kph one time in the rental BMW. We were bookin’!!!
Kraftwerk has yet to comment.
Too funny. No speed limit Isle of Man - 32 miles long 14 miles wide.
When I was there,I routinely drove 200 kmph.Only outside the cities however, as there were adjustable speed limits near those, and forget about it in (then) East Germany: the road systems there were appalling.
