Things are going amazingly well for the GOPr (GOP Reform Movement).
Cruz has moved into second place in many polls. Carson has done his job and now his votes will distribute in many cases to Cruz, with the rest split among others.
Cruz and Trump are working together, and both are cleaning up on the status quo pros...
This is an unusual election, but another historical precedent may still be in play...when the political pendulum swings hard in one direction...

Keep’em coming! Every such utterance the MSM makes shows just how out of touch with the culture and world events they are. They are a universe to themselves and it’s showing. Trump, trumps their ideology and makes fools of them without breaking a sweat. Don’t get upset, they are doing themselves in. Unfortunately, this time Sabato may be correct, Trump may be unelectable.
Sabato may have inside info regarding any GOPe intent to disregard the voter's mandate and exercise its (apparent) power to pick the R's presidential candidate. As a connected poly-sci prof he ought to know whether and how they can do it.

The only candidate on the GOP ticket who can beat Hillary is Trump. Anybody else gets nominated and you can start saying President Clinton and CWII will be commencing shortly.

Sabato isn’t a Dem plant. He’s GOPe, and that means, when it comes to some root issues like Obamacare, TPP, Common Core and big government in general, he doesn’t need to be a Dem plant because he agrees with the Dems. That’s the nature of the Uniparty.
The GOPe, being in agreement with the Dems on these issues, would prefer President Clinton to President Trump.
If they can’t deny Trump the nomination due to overwhelming voter rejection of their preferred puppet, Jeb, or any of the last minute Jeb alternatives who originally were in place to split to vote to stop Cruz, they have to switch gears.
I’m sure the internals show Trump winning the nomination, so the new plan is to denounce Trump as unelectable, either because he’ll get trounced by Hillary or because his positions and personality are “too extreme”. Polls that show him beating Hillary won’t matter, and public support for his “extreme” views on a temporary halt to muslim immigration won’t matter.
They’ll simply claim that they are forced to oppose Trump on principle regardless of what the voters want.
If they can’t do it by applying brute political force at a brokered convention, they’ll back a third party candidate in the form of Romney or a Romney clone. The idea is to split the vote to ensure a victory for Hillary. It’s what the GOPe did against Reagan in 1980 with John Anderson.
It’s no conspiracy, they’ve either announced or floated the plans, changed the convention and state party rules to support the GOPe candidates, and have defeated outsider candidates in Mississippi and Alaska with similar tactics.
Remember when the GOP tore into Obama in 2008 and 2012 with the same energy that they are tearing into Trump? I thought not.
The sad truth is that they are terrified that Trump is beyond their control and will kick them away from the perks and privilege that the loyal opposition enjoys even when they lose to a socialist ninny like Obama.
He doesn't understand the Trump phenomenon because it's outside his Politics box.
Sabato was a blowhard back during the impeachment wars, and he still is to this day.
