He should simply have expressed regret over Scalia’s passing, and spoken of his lying in state in the Capitol Rotunda.No need to go public over the obvious - that under the Republican majority, Senate scrutiny of any Obama nominee for SCOTUS will be subject to more delay than Alberto Gonzales experienced during the W Bush Administration.
