Reeves has rightly pressed for more non-invasive tech to uncover stuff, but he's got Nefertiti on the brain. Good topic for the weekly Digest ping, just a day early.

i hope they open this in my lifetime. i fear there will be 10-20 years of bureaucratic haggling and inaction while the antiquities people argue and bicker amongst themselves over who gets credit and who gets the loot and who gets to do the work... even with Hawass already gone.

i hope the same thing about that Nazi train in Poland. i’m reasonably convinced that it really is there and the Polish government just decided they would dig it up without the world press sticking their noses in their business. i wonder if we’ll ever learn any more details about that one.
