I can see LEOs removing any weapon present to keep the ME from shooting up the place, but the holster, and then put the jacket back on?
No. Not bloody likely. Why, that might be considered tampering with evidence.
No shoulder holster, then.
No shoulder holster, no weapon to reach for on the upper left, BUT there were exit wounds there.
(No mention of a holster on the belt or the right side, either.)

PS Smokin’ Joe - I’m not giving you hell for your comment; I’m just completely pissed off after watching the full 12+ minute video, then the slo-mo zoomed clip of Lavoy getting out of truck as snipers are shooting at him and the others in truck... and now reading the autopsy report. They wanted him dead; plain and simple.
All well and good, and true from the safety of a keyboard. But it still comes across wrong. Overwhelming numbers, distance from the “threat”, helicopter overhead. All nicely documented. This was not the American Indian Movement, or Black Liberation Army/Symbionese. This was a high strung Mormon rancher. Many LEOs (fed and otherwise) in our family and they are saying something very fishy. Hence the FBI criminal probe of the agents there. This is not over.

I wear a shoulder rig, I am right handed.
It would be awkward as hell to get my weapon if the holster was on my right side (as I said, shoulder rig).
The firearm is on the left, and you reach across to draw.
There is no mention of a holster in the autopsy report, and if the police removed it they would be tampering with and removing evidence which would bolster the claim he was reaching for a weapon. Not likely.

Someone I know told me exactly how things there would end up. The person was absolutely correct.
That person also told me that no Bundy would be killed, so as not to make a Bundy a martyr.
So, now there’s a real one. Shot in the back, to die in the snow without anyone to even check on him, let alone a relative or friend to say a word and hold his hand.
Not surprising at all. The statists are just getting started this century. Last century they outright killed 100 million people. That means they killed on average 1 million people every year. Which also means they averaged killing about 3,000 people every day. Just wait until they get geared up and get rolling this century. Shot in the back. Fire bombed. Nuked. Starved. Genocide. Keep in mind that his jacket was on at the morgue. (Shoulder rigs are commonly worn over a shirt, but not a jacket, so to remove the holster, the jacket would have to be removed and put back on or the holster cut away. The firearm would be removed, if present, but not the holster.)

At this point, I believe it was his own fault for driving up to Oregon and getting involved in that mess to begin with. If we all drove to Arizona (or the state of Texas!) and armed ourselves to the teeth and took over some state park building or the like, the AZ or TX law enforcement would’ve killed us faster than the FBI did LaVoy, no questions asked. Also, LaVoy’s issues with bankruptcy and money made from foster-parenting has soured my opinion of him. My parents were foster parents and no foster parents we knew every made that much money off fostering kids. As the Bible says, we reap what we sow. Just sayin’.

You follow the logic here don’t you? The reason he appeared to be ‘reaching for a gun’ was that he had suffered gunshot wounds to his left thoracic area?
You would have to be some sort of industrial-strength statist lickspittle to ignore the fact that 5.56 rounds traveling over 2000 feet per second would be faster than this “55 year old man who looks five years older” raising his arm, even if you still want to argue that he was “asking for it” by going for a gun, knowing snipers had a bead on him.
Several goverment snipers flushed out the driver firing on his truck full of Americans, killed a frightened old man up to his hips in snow, prolly on full auto scored three hits, like fish in a barrel. Good job feebs, staties! The important thing is you got home safely without a shot having been fired in your direction.
And by virtue of terrain and selection of location or intervention (jamming, tower shutdown), no cell service.
