“....then all the way across the country to Bell Gardens, Ca.”
If I send a Christmas card to friends who receive their mail on the other side of the river from me (if I don’t personnaly tell the postmaster), the card first travels 3-1/2 hours out of state to El Paso before coming back to be delivered to the friend just a few miles away on the other side of the river.
Nice to know the PO hadn’t changed in 35 years.
The best thing about working at the PO is learning about what all these people did for their fun outside of work. It was the most eclectic group I’ve ever worked with.
“He is a “civil servant” who has better benefits than I do, and who will be retiring at 55 with a six figure lifetime pension that I am helping to pay for.”
He must have gotten a late start to have to work that long. Disgusting, isn’t it?
My oldest son lives an hour and a half east of me. If I send him a card, it goes 2 1/2 hours west of me, to Rochester, then heads back east to him.
Miserable?
They keep dangling transfers to Hawaii in from of them, the most sought-after postal route of them all. The air is so dewy-sweet you don’t even have to like the stamps..
Then they take a man’s soul and crush it out like a stale Pall Mall.
Email is not secure unless you are using independent encryption.
There’s a lot more mail than just coupons and bills lol
As an example- I just got a new chip credit card in the mail the other day. I don’t think they could have emailed that.
I wonder how John Kasich will weigh in on this. After all, he is the son of a mailman.
Your post was spot on. I could have added to it but it was depressing enough remembering what it was like everyday.
I’m not really surprised.
Think about it, once upon a time the postal service delivered life: all the important letters from friends and loved ones, notices, paychecks, bills ... all the best and worst of what the world had to throw at people...
... now they mostly deliver junk mail.
That’s gotta have an effect.
You nailed it. Foreigners should be absolutely disbarred from government work. Those jobs should go to Americans.
Also, I note that the surly black people do not like to serve white people, and there is no mechanism for enforcement. Imagine that. Any person who gives white people substandard service because of their innate hostility to white people should go to prison and be disbarred from future employment.
Let them dig ditches as they mull their irrational hatred of white people...
But hey, the media rate is a great deal!
I once mailed something in a CD case so as to use the media rate when I was a struggling student. It was not a CD.
And they are true civil servants. . .cant hardly be fired.
They are miserable so they are convinced they MUST make everyone else miserable as well. They are a nasty piece of work.
Post Office near me has spaces for 6 people to work the counter. Never see more than 2 at any given time. . .too include Christmas.
Anytime I need a piece of mail to get someplace, I always use FedEx.
Never the Post Office.
