OS X is dead, Long live MacOS. Apple has released MacOS Sierra today for users of OS X users of:
- iMac (Late 2009 and later)
- Mac mini (2010 and later)
- Mac Pro (2010 and later)
- MacBook (Late 2009 and later)
- MacBook Air (2010 and later)
- MacBook Pro (2010 and later)
All others should stick with OS X El Capitan, Yosemite, or lower. Those eligible to upgrade, download the installer from the Apple Mac App store and install. As usual, be sure you have a good backup on Time Machine or other backup system first. PING!

I was completely unimpressed. It seems they asked their phone customers what they wanted in a computer not asking their computer customers what they wanted.

Starting backup & download. Thanks for the link.

Again, you don't use a Mac or any other Apple products, so what are you doing here making any negative comments about anything you don't use? TROLL!

I, for one, believe Apple deserves much applause for this achievement.
Bravo, Sierra!

I'm sticking with 10.9.5 on my MacBook Pro. I also have an older iMac, but haven't upgraded that either. I don't have an iPhone, or any other Apple devices to connect to, and don't plan on getting any. I don't use many of the application programs that came with this computer, like iMovie, iTunes, Garage Band, Face Time, etc. They can keep Siri. Who the hell wants to listen to that? When I upgraded to Mavericks, I had a few third party apps that the OS didn't like. I managed to get them to work, but don't want to be bothered again with any incompatibility issues. This OS works fine for me, and if it ain't broke...it don't need fixin'.

Mid 2007 iMac, methinks I’ll sit this one out.

The changes seem to be mostly application related, but same/improved kernel, correct?
I have a non-production 2012 iMac. Couldn’t hurt to check it out.

Ask Siri who you should vote for.

I installed the beta a few months ago on a six year old MacBook Air. It choked it, the processor could not handle all the extra demand. Had to revert back to 10.11.6.
But I will install it on my new boxes.

My desktop works fine with Win7. Why would I put my MacBook Pro on MacOS? I’m tickled pink with the way it works with Parallels and Remote Desktop. I’ll wait till all you early adopters shake out the bugs :)

I don’t see a single feature I care about in the list. Is there more to Sierra that I haven’t seen yet?
