It’s been though many already you must not be a Californian
There’s an awful lot of some heavy building material in that overhang, it would make me nervous.
They are both very similar actually, but I still think I would rather have Hope’s home. But I could live in that one as well. Just don’t want to live in Mexico, personally.
Wow!
like the Sydney Opera House, right?
I absolutely LOVE that house! Sure would be nice to see the inside. A 22k sf house isn’t bad to clean at all. It would only take 2 cleaning people at most, one of them part time if only 2 people actually live in the house full time. These nice houses are very easy to clean...much, much easier than my 400sf apartment is even. I know, because I’ve done it.
When everything is well built in the first place, kept clean and up to date, they are far from being a maintenance nightmare. If they are thoughtfully built, then you have easy access to anything that might break down or need replacing.
Since eye appeal is crucial in these homes, there tends to be no over crowding, lots of empty space and room to move around which makes it very easy to clean. You don’t have to move the entire house around to get to the corners, and shelves aren’t overloaded, either.
I’ve seen vids of many of the homes of the rich and famous, but none of them appealed to me. This one however, is my dream house...I love it!! At least from the outside.
GREAT post. GRRRRREAT house. GRRRRRRRRREAT man. R.I.P., sir.
love
Thanks for the link. WOW!
ROFLMAO! Laugh of the week/month. Thanks, RD (I’d never seen that one before)
Wow. That IS amazing! I found a few more views of the interior at this youtube link:
If you like Ken Kellogg’s work, McGillicutty’s place is still there between JOshua Tree and 29 Palms facing the National Park.
His Charthouse Restaurant design in Rancho Mirage, burnt down a few years ago.

That house could definitely handle the worst of storms. Built like a castle.
Thanks.
That took me down memory lane. I haven't thought of a White Front store in decades. Not because I forgot them, just no reason to think of them.
Yep, Hope estate architect must have bought his readi-crete at White Front.
Thats it
Makes me miss my late mom we shopped there
