As far as Christian groups go, I looked into that several years ago. They would only take people in very good health. They would not take overweight people or people with diabetes or other chronic health problems. I’m a Christian, and all I have to say to them, is shame on you. You’re no better than the insurance companies.
Cash co-ops are a good idea, but you still need catastrophic coverage, and apparently, it’s illegal, at the moment, to purchase it.

thx for your reasoned and reasonable responses, brother FReepers: the process is still playing out, but both of you make excellent points (spiritual and secular). i am in agreement with both of you.

there’s no question in my mind also, that God put Donald Trump there. we pray and play our part and then comes Faith in God. To be humble is among other things (like trusting in God not in man, or oneself as you point out Ezekiel) is to be teachable. i pray that the president continues to learn on the job.

The way some freepers (and President Trump) are carrying on about the Freedom Caucus, I guess they would rather that we had left Eric Cantor in office so that they could have passed Rubio’s amnesty in the summer of 2014 to get the issue off the table as planned to clear the way for Yeb! and there would have been no President Trump.

Granted, yet now there will be no President Trump in 2020 unless Dave Brat and the rest of his caucus vote as Republicans instead of Republicans in Name Only. They need to make the best deal and vote with the Republican Caucus.

It is like selling your house. The first couple is perfect and you really want to sell them the house but they are so picky that they cannot make a deal. Then, when they ask for concessions and you grant them they come back asking for more concessions. Meanwhile another couple, to whom you would prefer not to sell, comes by and makes a deal. Who gets the house ?

One deal that would turn politics on its head would be if the man President Trump keeps meeting with makes a compromise offer and does the deal. It would turn Washington DC and the entrenched political alliances on their head if the President can pull off a deal with the Congressional Black Caucus. They have more votes than freedom caucus and would completely neuter Nancy Pelosi if they split off for a side deal that helps their constituency first.

Thanks DadFly. I appreciate the note and agree with your conclusions, and hopes for Trump to continue to learn on the job.
