Taxes will go up, business will fire people to stay in business and/or move out of state. Result in many more ‘educated’ people unemployed.
Taxes will need to go up to pay for the welfare and they are now in a loop. Not to worry. The politicians get the free car, insurance and extra daily stipend pay for showing up to work.

I have estimated that I will be able to comfortably retire at 126. That’s if there are no major economic changes.

The free college degree will be as worthless as the free high school degree.

“940,000 families will qualify...program will cost 163 million
dollars”

Democrat math.Numbers seem to be based on the fact that the average cost per year to educate one student is $180. Someone is lying here. This is a multi billion dollar entitlement not
163 million.

“...free college degree will be worthless...”

Exactly. And sorting out the students who are smart enough to make it in a professional job will force them to get an expensive post grad degree and go to college for years.

This will be a mess and an insult to those of us who paid for our children’s tuition at the SUNY schools. They will be heavy elitist professor indoctrination centers even more so than they already are. So pitiful.

This is the opening salvo in the Andrew Cuomo “I will forgive your student loans” campaign for POTUS in 2020.

It didn’t cost the taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars to keep me in high school.

The origin of this problem is in the grade schools.

Demanding that every ‘student’ (illegal) get an education courtesy of the USA taxpayers has proven to slow down the classroom teaching to the point where the book I went thru in one semester is now taking 2 semesters-—or more.

The core items of Reading-Writing- & arithmetic have been torn up to the point where schools are not even teaching cursive writing any more. By the time a kid gets to high school, they are still doing what I did in the 5th or 6th grade.

Pushing these kids thru each grade & lowering the grade advancement standards also applies.

I moved from Wisconsin to So Calif in March of 1964. Bought my first house in 1966. The HIGH SCHOOL girl next door could not make change for a dollar!!!! I knew how to do that when I was in 5th grade or so. It sure was a disappointment when all I had heard all my life was HOW WONDERFUL & GREAT the Calif schools were. The girl wasn’t stupid-—she just had never been taught. I taught her -—& her daughter & sister. None of them knew how to make change for a dollar. It was pitiful.

This is a serious question boycott. Who hires students that have graduated with a degree in urban studies?

I tutored people in college who needed help with elementary-school math! And they were going for math-intensive technical degrees.

I was doing algebra in 7th grade. Trig in 8th.

I graduated HS in ‘73 and started college at a local
Junior College.

They started my math courses at the same level I had in the 7th grade..................

From time to time in the summer, I'll make a salad for lunch made from nettles, chickweed, purslane, and lambs quarters.

I'm fond of purslane, violet leaves, and dandelion roots in a soup, myself. But to each their own :)

Government. They’re on the taxpayer’s dime the rest of their lives. They retire around age 50 (again, government jobs) and then live off the taxpayers until buried.

New York will be the first state to make tuition at public colleges and universities free for middle-class students under a state budget approved by lawmakers Sunday.

Idiots!

The is no such thing as "free tuition public education."
Not unless real professors have no salary and benefits and the entire university plant is maintenance free, as are utilities and consumables.

The University/government complex dinosaurs have not received the nerve impulses from the tail, alarming them that there has been a watershed change on what "costs" are.

The working taxpayer with a job pays for everything with their taxes.

Taxpayers reached their tipping point decades ago, and the parasites better accept that reality.

No more "free" useless degrees (that would include more lawyers, community agitators, illegal alien enablers and "ethnic" studies.

Pay for it yourselves or learn something demonstrably productive and useful.

Things are a-changing, and there's no going back.

Wow! I was not expecting that answer. What positions would they hold? I truly have no idea.

So, the Professors, Administrators, Custodians, Building Engineers, Landscapers, Food Workers, Security and any other necessary Personnel are working for free, the School Supplies are donated, the Cafeteria Food is donated, the Fleet Vehicles are donated, the electricity, water and Fossil Fuels are provided for free and they pay no property Tax.

It’s Utopia, Heaven on earth...

Jealous ===> boycott

I read recently, while searching for something else...
The most misused word in the English language is "jealous."

The proper word is "envious." Must be true, that.

What else could they do with a job in urban studies?

City planning and other do-nothing fluff government jobs.

I know a guy that had one of those jobs (county in Alabama). He bragged about having to go to a meeting 3-4 times per year where he never even had to say anything. That’s all he did for his job.

He got bored with that and took another government gig. All he does now is seek out people to give government grant money. I am not making this up.
