Does anyone here think that the higher-ups in the NFL just may be stupid? Businesses always make dumb decisions, some more costly than others. Market has been saturated. 2 teams in LA? They’ve already got USC. That’s plenty for their lifestyle. Throw in pink October, sideline reporters with boobs, and Mr. Kapernick, you end up with inmates running the asylum

As long as the Dallas Cowboys stand during the National anthem (whether by threat or patriotism) I'm watching them play.

However those teams and their liberal owners and coaches who allow their players to vomit out their personal politics unto the field of play they will not get my viewing attention and I loudly proclaim this opinion in person and on-line.

yesterday I heard “the professor” John Clayton say, on our (Seattle) ESPN radio, that the first reason for low ratings was Donald Trump. Last year it was the election diverting viewer's attention now it is waiting/watching what Trump will do and say next. Then it is the National Anthem thing.

I said “huh?”. I am not watching the NFL because I am glued to CNN etc to see what Trump is up to? Whatta stretch!

They - NFL HQ - have been warned.

They need to sit down with the owners, and the owners need to sit down with the players. The team members need to understand they are being paid to play, and that payment comes from the box-office and the on-air advertising, not their politics. You want to make a political statement, take out a paid advertisement on YOUR dime, not on the team’s on-air time.
