Yesterday afternoon I discovered it had updated my Dell Optiplex780. My machine didn't like it one bit. I promptly restored to 56.0.2 and turned off updates.

Firefox (at least the old one) is the only browser I have found that decently runs the HTML Validator extension (with View Source and no crashing). This is now the only thing I use Firefox for. Since I only need to validate pages I have made myself, security updates are not an issue; so it probably doesn't matter if it eventually goes to seed.

I assumed it would be like installing a new browser, but even with the version "downgrade", it keep my current settings, including cookies (was still logged into FR). I guess this buys me more time until the 52 ESR support ends late in June 2018.
