There's no way in the world a 'straight' man would grip a loaf of bread like that and at that level, in that position, pressed up against his dress...And the little boy pressed up against the leg of the priest...
If there wasn't anything wrong with the statue, they wouldn't have covered it up...

Yep ... Some of these folks could profit from a bit of counseling. IMO, that statue is a bit of a Rorschach Test. What “you” see tells more about “you” than it does about the statue or the sculptor.
